COLOURFUL
I was really struggling to come up with something from my very limited library of digital photos and couldn't really think of anything to take a photo of for this theme. This is a bit of a cop out and not at all original. Sorry folks, I will do better next week, perhaps.

This is a very small bed in my front garden by the road and also up against a huge cedar hedge which sucks all the nutrients and moisture from the surrounding area as well as shades these plants from the sun. But once a year, on cue, a brilliant cerise evergreen azalea and a colourful peachy deciduous azalea flower at the same time in this wonderful display of mismatched colour. What was I thinking when I planted this bed, almost thirty years ago? A tiny cutleaf japanese maple is struggling there too, along with some white alyssum.

all that matters is you tired to find something and you did =) I think it's great for colorful... very pretty flowers!
You plant the azalea 30 years ago? Wow!
I wish azalea could survive the hot weather here in Singapore. It would be lovely to have them growing in my garden. :)
But this is beautiful ! BTW I think Egypt has changed a lot since 1960 ! It is very modernized even though they kept their traditions I love this country very much and the people are so friendly there !
Gorgeous, I say, gorgeous!
I love the spring/summer blossoms and flowers.
Well done.
You made a perfect and unique choice for today: from your very own garden!!! beautiful azaleas, love the vivid colors!
happy saturday :)
I adore azaleas, and aspire to plant them in my new garden! Great photo!
This is actually really really pretty
Lovely! :) Such vibrant colours. :)
i love the colours! the greens provide the contrast.
Wow, a great site on your garden. I find this beautiful.
Are you joking? I think this is an outstanding photo of color! Wow....so, so pretty.
Thanks for the visit.
This is gorgeous :)
How i wish i have a garden :)
I think they were a wonderful choice, so very pretty and colourful.
beautiful!!
What a beautiful photo, Mom can't believe those azeleas are 30 years old!
Thanks for the visit!

JMB, I think this is beautiful. I was driving through Vancouver yesterday admiring all the azaleas that are at their best right now. There were the most wonderful splashes of color everywhere. Who knows, I may even have driven right past yours :-)
I do wish we would get some summer, though.
Cheers,
Josie
Hi Josie,
I think Thursday was summer and it's gone again.

quite lovely as always. I am very fond of azaleas because when I was a child I was told they bloomed every year in March just for my birthday. It could be true....
Looks great to me! You should see my pitiful yard. I've managed to have the yard men mow it down but the gardens are in very ill repair. Don't know when we will get around to cleaning them up. Meantime, I close my eyes.

What a delightful photo Jmb! Azalea are truly spectacular when in bloom. I used to plant the doubles in the store-bought varieties too and they do just as well...that is if you can keep the deer away who seem to have a fondness for such things...lol
Hi Lady MacLeod,
Well it was true, wasn't it? They did. Clever Mum you had.
Hi Donnetta,
I guess you are still getting settled in your new house. It all takes time and the good thing is that there's always next year.
Hi Janice
I was going to say that azaleas are wonderful because they are almost indestructible but those deer can do the job, no problem.
I guess they love everything and gardening is a real challenge in deer country.
Regards to you all

I think that is lovely.
Lovely azaleas. When we visit our local rhododendron park I always grumble about the salmon pink azalea being next to the bright orange one!
I think that qualifies!! Very colorful and very pretty.
Who cares what you were thinking thirty years ago...whatever it was must have been good...beautiful blooms. :)
Sorry for the late visit. Must be a refreshing sight to see all those flowers in bloom.
