I am going to be lying low for the next week as my daughter and her family are arriving in Vancouver today. Her husband is giving a scientific paper at a conference in Vancouver this next week so of course my daughter insisted on coming too, along with their four year old daughter. This is my only grandchild and I call her my globetrotting granddaughter. At her young age she has travelled to Italy four times to see her other grandparents, to France twice as my daughter has taken her and thirty students on exchange to France, with this being her fourth visit to Canada. She asks her mother constantly, "When are we going on a plane, Mummy?"So if you don't see my Westie avatar in your comment section and although I have a couple of inconsequential posts prepared and will put them up along the way, I assure you I will be back in full swing after this week.
I'll leave this post at the top but check underneath because I will be posting for Saturday Photo Hunt and also as I said some other little things too. Have a good week, my blog friends.

I'm sure you'll have a lovely time with them, jmb. That's a very well-travelled 4-year-old, following in Grandmaa's footseps, perhaps? Don't worry - we'll all keep checking in. Buon divertimento.
Enjoy your family. It is important to have precious moments.
Await your return.
Have a great time with your family...

Enjoy your week, jmb...I know you will do so. I look forward to your reappearance to the blogging world. :)
skytrain, vancouver aquarium, stanley park, buchart gardens and victoria, the chinese garden, that costco out by the airport with the french fries and gravy-and the harry potter release...can it all be done in a week?
good luck...
JMB, have a wonderful time with your family. And, you're not too old to have a four year-old grandchild. I suspect she will infuse you with energy, and you will feel like a kid again too.
Cheers,
Josie

Have a wonderful time, jmb. And what a well-travelled little girl. How fantastic for her.
Have fun with the visit :)
What a wonderful reason to ignore your blog. Enjoy your precious time with your daughter and grand daughter.
jmb, enjoy your family while they are there. A 4 year old grand daughter. I love them at that age. They think we are the greatest thing alive when they are 4.
Thanks again to everyone who came by to wish me a happy week being Grandma which is a sometime occurrence for me.

aw, what a lucky little girl she is, and I'm sure you'll have a fantastic time!!
How fantastic to have her so well traveled at such a young age. She is certain to benefit with an open mind and heart. One of my favorite quotes- "Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one's lifetime." --Mark Twain
