CREATIVE
I totally changed my mind about what to post for this theme when I went to the Granville Island market yesterday. I saw this decorated Volkswagen Beetle that someone had created with great love and attention to detail. All the people who saw it were amazed and gathered around it to take photos and generally admire it. So I present to you someone else's creativity for your enjoyment.
The front of the car. There was a tiny fountain on the hood, which you can see when you click on the photo, all the better to appreciate the detail of this creation.

Now we see the back of the car. Again please be sure to click.

I am so impressed by the vision of its creator and the effort involved in bring it to fruition.
WISHING YOU ALL A VERY HAPPY WEEKEND

Wow!!!
I'm Speechless.
Thanks JMB.
Wow! Ditto!
Creative is in the eye of the beholder, i guess. i would hate to have to clean that car. Also, couldn't run any red lights since cops would know where to find you fast. lol (I would have saved it for the word weird. . . )
Come see mine.
Sure is creative! I saw the fountain among other things - like eyeballs, skates, globe, etcetera. Lol. I've a VW in my creative hunt too but not as elaborate as this one. :)
that is one of a kind! yes the owner is very creative indeed! :)
Gosh; that's some creation! Happy weekend to you too.
One mans junk is another mans treasure, thats for sure. I wonder who created this,.. he sure does have an imagination. I once saw someone's yard in Detroit like that,.... and house. They had so much stuff hanging off the house. Great photos and thanks for sharing. Have a great weekend.
its really funny:) great job!
Wow ! what a lot of work he must have put in this creation that must have lasted weeks. It's just amazing !
oh that is just wild and crazy and very very creative....I am so glad you got a photo of that....
Wow, that is amazing!!! Incredibly creative! Someone really put a lot of time and effort into that car. Just amazing.
Wow! This is really awesome! The owner must have spent a lot of time labouring over it!
That is definitely a very creative piece of work. I'm amazed, though, that it's legal to have that on the road with so many of his windows covered over, and for how much it would distract other drivers.
Happy Hunting (from another Wet Coast Woman)
That's remarkable! I can imagine how much time and effort was put into it. It's a fascinating expression of art. Thanks for sharing it with us. I appreciate the visit earlier. Take care!
That must have taken so long and such an effort to create. And is it allowed on the road?
Now that is just WOW! Happy weekend
Wow - very creative and a lot of work!!
Happy Weekend.
That is awesome. So many things one can see there! Thanks for sharing this photo of the VW.
Have a great weekend! :)
That’s real creative. Have not seen that before. Happy Weekend! http://crizlai.blogspot.com/2007/07/photo-hunters-creative.html
Very unique :) I wonder how easy it is to drive.. kind of thinking on the highway and wondering if anythiing is going to come off the car at 90km
I can't fathom the hours invested in this. The artistic side of me is in awe .. the insurance adjuster in me is cringing!
What an attention getter and terrific conversation piece. Great choice for this weeks theme!
WHOA! That's a real creative piece of art!
Thanks for sharing!
oh my goodness, that is very creative. Don't see how they would be able to drive with the distraction of the car.
It's certainly an amazing looking car. Now here's my question: Do people actually drive around in it??
Definitely a one-of-a-kind!
Every inch was thought about carefully. The eyeballs cracked me up but the rest of it amazed me.
I have to say I prefer our plain white beetles but that one is certainly amazing! I do love the eyes! The owner(s) must have a degree in creativity.
Wow! Can't say anything.
Thanks for the visit.
That's perfect! wow, I certainly have never seen anything like that before.
Wonderful!!!!!!
This volksy is so cute, can you imagine the emotion that runs through it's owner as they drive it around...it's almost been painstakingly done.
I had to stop and think if I have a tree; I will have a look....surely in my million pictures there is....but I can get a decent one anyway, have some k's to cover this week...got a ripper last week in the town of Donald, Victoria.
By the Richardson River there.. there is remnants of an old gumtree and it's trunk is in the shape of a bullock's head...actually I'll fwd you a picture...hang on a minny.
Pam (I can speak some embarrassingly small French):)
holy crap! lol...ok, I have to tell you my favorite puece on that bug...the hockey pucks and the chess pieces on the front bumper...and the whole tool box in the engine! what a bunch of everything! This is a great creative post! Thanks for visiting my photo hunt otday!
Hi...I just love the beetle. My friend's father has one that we had driven often in the past and I was so impressed by its performance and tenacity despite its age.
Weeks? that must have taken over a year at least with such fine detail. Amazing! One of a kind! I would have loved to meet the creator ..I'm sure that car had a story to tell...! And I would have loved to hear how it came about.
Thanks for dropping by. Have a great weekend.
Oh my! What a creation!
Wonder how much it weighs?
Very interesting photo :)
WOW!! does it travel, as in can one drive it? Can you imagine showing up for your red carpet entrance in that! too cool. Thank you for sharing. You have such a great eye for the unusual and the lovely.
That is absolutely fantastic!
Thank you all for visiting my Photo Hunt for Creative.
Yes this car is registered and insured and it was parked in a one hour parking zone so needed to hustle away pretty soon. I saw a man come out and fill up the reservoir for the tiny fountain.
As some have remarked, vision for the driver is limited.
I don't know anything about the car but maybe I should google and see if I can find anything more about it.
Have a Happy Weekend for the remainder and enjoy the week to come.
regards
jmb
Great! Where can I buy one?
I am betting it didn't get done in a day, right? Nice.
This is truly being creative but... hmmm how did he get the fountain there? Really interesting.
That must have taken FOREVER!
Wow.
great photo!!!
very creative!
The guy needs one of the t-shirts I mentioned to Ms Baroque the other day - on the front:
"VW Beetle. Not just cool ..."
And on the back
"... It's AIR cooled"
5th attempt at posting a comment.
You don't think the car is the result of a disordered imagination, JMB?
Forgive me, it may be creative but it looks bloody dangerous!
Hopefully if they try and drive it a police officer will have it in the pound in 30 seconds as a hazard to the public.
Nice photo, though.
May I post the photo on my blog?
Cheers
Matt
Hi Matt,
Of course you may use the photos for your blog.
I tried to send you an email from your contact page but it seems to give me an error message.
I'll use the alternate email in case you don't get back here.
