Since I'm guest posting occasionally during this week for Welshcakes Limoncello I have decided to cross post my Photo Hunt picture there as well. She lives in Sicily so it is only fair that I should post on her site something with a Sicilian connection.
So may I present the CURVY ladies depicted in mosaic at La Villa Romana del Casale, near Piazza Armerina in central Sicily, around 330 AD. I visited this amazing place in 2000 and took this photo, not digital unfortunately. It's scanned from a print, and I apologize for the quality. Click to see it a little better. While depicting young women exercising in a gymnasium it is commonly known as the Bikini Girls mosaic.

They certainly have curves in all the right places! I visited Sicily 42 years ago! I travelled to Italy on the same plane as Gracie Fields who had a home in Sicily. :o)

That's a beautiful mosaic. It must have been magnificent seeing it up close.
I never knew women were allowed to dress like that; or that they would be painted dressed like that. I love what they call the fresco now!

Don't worry about being shameful of what you post. Everyone has his/her own views on everything. It's good to see how people understand a theme as in PH and come out with different presentations. Yours have been fine for me all these while.

Wow, interesting!
My weekend was quiet. I grumbled loudly when a knock came to my door on Sunday. I was nestled in for the day, with my book at hand, looking forward to time just with me and me and the cats! That dream was soon shattered as a friend decided he wanted to spend a couple of hours chatting. I really wasn't in the mood for it, but like a good-mannered person I was brought up to be, I gritted my teeth and behaved myself admirably! ;)
Sometimes, I just want to be by myself and some find that difficult to understand.
