Saturday Photo Hunt ---- Candy

CANDY

Along with all the other things you can find at Granville Island Market CANDY features prominently and below you see a young man making fudge at the Old World Fudge stall.

This is what they sell at the stall and is it ever good.

The CANDY apples look good at this stall along with the chocolate CANDIES.

HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND EVERYONE

Great post for the theme JMB.

Nice shots for the theme. I think I will have to miss this one as I don't buy candy and as yet haven't thought of anything original to take its place.

Oh my -- my mouth is going to be watering at each of the pictures for this hunt, I can tell! That fudge looks so good! But I imagine if you had to make it every day you'd get sick of it (hey, maybe that would cure my sweet tooth....)

Yum, homemade fudge. Great shots.

I saw your comment about Mr. Linky and I totally forgot to do that until I already had comments but I'll remember next week.

Hope you have a great weekend.

My grandmother used to make fudge and tablet and all kinds of other sweet things. When she came to visit, she would take my brother and I out for a walk and despite my mothers warning, feed us up with candy. Lucky us. Not so good for our teeth no doubt.

The Market is such a fun place to visit. So many booths and things to choose from. We anchored our boat in False Creek and used our dinghy to get there. You can see my Canadian candy offering by clicking here. – Margy

I would like to sample something like that but I had gastric bypass surgery to lose weight (almost 200 pounds thus far lost) two years ago and I've avoided sugars since then with very few exceptions. If I consume too much sugar, I will get a case of "dumping syndrome" which suffice to say is quite unpleasant. This is something all gastric bypass patients will get from time to time from eating too much, eating too fast, consuming too much sugars or carbs, and sometimes from foods that just don't sit well. It's not life threatening and usually lasts only about 20 minutes, but it's no fun.

BTW, there is a store here in Tallahassee that stocks some hard-to-find imported candy mostly from Great Britain, Belgium and Japan and another little store just up the road in Havana, Florida (an antique shop mecca if you’re ever in the area) that sells British foods including plenty of candy. And there are several Oriental markets in the area with plenty of Japanese, Korean and Taiwanese candies.

I've got my PhotoHunt entry up at http://www.anniemayhem.com/cgi-bin/wordpress/ in case you're interested. If you do visit, please leave a comment and feel free to explore the rest of my little blog.
