Saturday Photo Hunt ---- Support

SUPPORT

What to put up for this week's theme? I have been worrying about it all week, clicking photos of various things but never totally satisfied. I'm still not, but the deadline is here, so on with the show.

This logo represents hands supporting a family and it decorates a building I pass by quite often. I should know what it represents but....

The Granville Street Bridge, near Granville Island, would fall down were it not for these metal supports which appear to be in the process of being painted.

We took a trip on the car ferry to nearby Bowen Island this week. Here you see the connector which supports the cars as they drive onto the ferry being raised because they are all aboard.

So what supports the ferry docking terminal above you might well ask? These barnacle covered pylons do the trick.

HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND EVERYONE

I thought those were great ideas JMB. All the photos pertain to support in one way or another. Love the last shot because there's lots of support going on there... :)

I think you came up with a great sequence of shots for the theme. I had a lot of ideas for this theme too and kept changing my mind throughout the week. Sometime the ones with the most possibilities are almost the hardest. I hope you have a happy weekend.

I think the logo is very meaningful... support a family... hmm I wonder what it represents. :/

Some support comes in a tangible form, some not... and you captured all of them in your pics. Great take for this week's theme!

Excellent group if images for the theme - I think the first one is to do with the UN Children's organisation.

Nice shots. I wondered if the symbol in the first shot related to a UN org but it's not UNICEF or WHO...

I love the use of barnacles as a building material... Perhaps the world would be a better place if more structure were made from them!

I should think the bridge would fall down without its supports, JMB. Love your pics of Van - takes me back.

I'm always facinated with the bridge connectors, like the one in your picture which can disconnect. Great take for the theme.

jmb, I'm glad you commented onthe yellow undies on my blog and thought them tasteful. I really did wonder whether they were all right for the PH theme. Your support pix are excellent! :)

I was just at Leslie's (The Pedalogue) a few minutes ago and she mentioned some of these very things in talking about what she was deciding to post. You've captured them nicely.

Excellent support shots. I was just recently on Granville Island. Walked around, ate a pot pie, enjoyed the sites, bought some art. Had a great time.
