Saturday Photo Hunt ---- Road

ROAD

I live in a small housing development consisting of three streets with 225 houses. We are surrounded on one side by the mighty Fraser River, two other sides by golf courses and there is but one road out. Since July we have been having our roads dug up as they replace the water mains and it is still ongoing. The original deadline of August has long past, with the end of September now projected but who knows? Piles of gravel, yellow tractors, red traffic cones, workmen with stop and slow signs are what we deal with as we come and go.

Good sized water pipes

Regularly parked on the road outside my house this machine rumbles to life at 7am

So there you have it. The state of the road in front of my house and in my area. If you are a regular reader you have seen several of these before. I know I should not complain when I think of so many people in the world who would love to have a regular supply of piped water and believe me I am truly appreciate my water supply and the fact that we have plenty of water. All the rain we endure at least ensures that.

HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND EVERYONE

Happy Weekend.

In spite of the work it looks like a lovely street. I remembered your mentioning the work and I'm sorry it's not finished. That really is a long time to deal with the obstruction on the only road out of your neighborhood. I hope you have a great weekend.

I can imagine what a pain it must be jmb but then again clean piped water is one of those things we would be lost without, Happy weekend

Yes, we do tend to complain about upsets to our usual routines, don't we? But we must remember that not everyone has it so good! Have a great weekend! :D

It does look like a lovely street and it looks like traffic continues despite the work.

Er... that big thing looks scary to me. But, the beautiful big peace of green make me feel so close to nature. Not bad at all. Hahaha......

Gosh they've been there a long time - guess that's the small (but noisy) price we pay for daily amenities.

Funny re Pat's comments as I was thinking: considering the work, how unmessy looking it actually looks! ;b

JMB! that's our old front end loader!!

The big yellow machine with the bucket, have a smaller one now with telescopics, a JCB it's called.

My goodness that is a busy street you live in, I think I love my quiet farm ....the noisiest it gets is the wind and ewes and lambs calling for each other. :)

Good to know for me that in other countries the delay is not respected either. I had once an open road here for 5 months !!

We had over a year of machines opposite whilst they built 8 dwellings.

I understand a little about the roads. We had the equestrian Olympics here in our little town. All we saw was orange barrels for months and months!
Hope your road gets finished soon, and send us some rain!

I agree with Carver, its a lovely street and I hope the works will be done soon.

P.S. We have a lot of that here in the Philippines, not the road repair but roads unrepaired :(

Great shots. But...geez, does all that construction equipment get a little tiresome? Still a wonderful street and it will be better when the work is DONE! Thanks for sharing. Mine is up also. Have a great weekend.
