CHIPPED
I'm not a coffee drinker any more. Some years ago I turned again to tea and finally to rooibos, the leaf of the "red bush" or Aspalathus linearis, grown only in South Africa, and which has no caffeine and is full of antioxidants or so they say.
Of course I have my favourite mugs for this: Denby Craftsman style stoneware mugs. Well as you can see I have more than one. In fact I have eight of these in different colours, one of which is chipped. But totally usable so I don't discard it. Now since I have the choice of eight when I go to the cupboard you would think I have a one in eight chance of selecting it, but it always seems to be up front and centre. So I pick it up saying, oh well, I'll just use it this time. Maybe I should just toss it. Although they now retail for $31.57 each, so maybe not.

Great take on the theme! My favorite coffee cup is chipped too!
Thanks for the visit to snap2days!
Great set of cups!
Have a super holiday. :)
Those are very attractive cups and I definitely wouldn't toss the chipped one. Happy weekend.
it reminds me of my own chipped cutlery :)
I had a cup with a gold rim like that and made the mistake of putting it in the Microwave . Now it has holes in the gold.
Very nice cups, too bad one's chipped :D
Neat cups and like you say the chipped one is still usable...
Hi jmb --
I'm curious: So why are those your favorite (type of) mugs?
Even there is a chipped cup but still pretty one. Happy weekend. Mine is posted too.
You can find my entry here
No. don't toss it!
In relation to your previous post, I know Granville Islnd and False Creek really well
Hahahah~ I guess most of us have got some chipped mugs around home that we're very unwilling to trash :P
nice set of cups.. too bad the one is chipped.
Happy weekend!
That's a lovely set, even chipped!
I used to have a few pieces of these mugs. The only problem was the cleaning up... my hand could not get inside.. :P

The ritual of coffee often involves the use of a favourite cup. It matters not that it is chipped, it comes with a thousand memories of previous coffee breaks. Wonderful choice
I love that blue color. The color makes up for the unfortunate chip!
I do hope you have time to stop by my blog this weekend-- I'm helping Quaker Oats and Share Our Strength with a campaign to stamp out childhood hunger in the US!
Chipped cups have such a homey, welcoming feel. Don't toss it!

Nice shot jmb. There's no mistaking a Denby mug. Happy weekend
Those are lovely cups, JMB :)

I can't enjoy tea anymore. We used the South African beverage for a while... but I am a confirmed coffee addict.
I wonder what our choice of favourite mugs says says about us?
that must b a dear collection u've had.
Please...don't toss it!
I also love red tea...and the white.
Happy weekend!
I love these mugs!! I wouldn't toss them out either JMB, I once had a gorgeous set similar but over time and boisterous boys I am left with el cheapo ones from the supermarket.
that's a beautiful mug. and don't throw!
happy weekend!
Love the shade of blue in your mug! too bad its chipped, but its rare for me to see the chipping at the bottom than at the mouth! Happy weekend!
I love Denby and would love to own a whole dinner service set...alas I have none :-(
I have some mugs that are chipped that I won't throw out. But not my coffee cups. They are huge and have saucers.
We have a coffee machine and I have cappuccino most days. mmmm....
oh noo no no...dont toss it...it still holds your beloved tea! Very pretty mugs! My hunt is up please come and visit when you can
I love Denby too! We have a set also, but haven't used them enough. I do hope if wanted, you could find a replacement.
By the way, I wanted to find credit to the person also. It was not listed in the tag of the photo information unfortunately.
We love rooibos also. Too bad it isn't easier to find. The cup set it nice. I wouldn't throw a Denby away either.
What beautiful mugs! I love that kind- I'll have to look for them somewhere. I drink coffee and, more regularly once again, tea.
Thanks for visiting New York Traveler.net!
Funny how that happens. And have you noticed that the chipped cup can suffer all kinds of stress and stay in one piece (apart from the chip, of course!)?
I always find the chipped mugs are at the front too!
Nice photo... My dinner ware seems to be collecting chips too. I always think I should get a new set, but never get around to it.
Those are beautiful mugs, definitely not tossable for that chip! Great choice for the chipped theme!
I asked R if he obsessed over the chips on his bass and he said no, they add character! :)
I'd never heard of Aspalathus linearis. Does it taste good?
Lovely pottery. That chipped one must be clever!
Great choice!! Have a wonderful weekend.
If we tossed all the chipped cups we have, we wouldn't have anything to drink with, lol. I have to say I lovvve coffee. Have a great weekend :)
Bummer, it's a beautiful set. Thanks for visiting and happy hunting!
still pretty even if it's chipped. Happy weekend!
Love the mugs!! The chipped one would be my favorite - Gives it character. When you have the time stop by and check out my "chippped" stairs. Thanks!!
They are lovely mugs. I don't blame you for keeping it.
I remember buying Denby as wedding presents for tea. And you must be the healthiest blogger, I do admire your self control.
