Maybe I am stretching this theme a little, but I am very fond of the stripes of nature which turn a plain green plant into a very interesting display. None are better than this variegated hosta and though I love all hostas, I find this simple one of the most pleasing additions to my garden.

So many hostas - wonderful!. I love them but sadly so do the local slugs and snails. Here a hosta is better known as slug caviar!
stretch away, i like this take. enjoy the weekend.
I love the way you showed us stripes in nature. Those are beautiful hostas. I didn't even think about my variegated hostas. I hope you have a great weekend home after all your travels.
Lovely shot - I have plenty of them - beautiful plants.

Stripes of nature :)
That's a beautiful hosta JMB.
Mine are the plain variety though I do like their flowers. Jams is right - the slugs do a number on ours too.
I didn't consider green plants even though I have a few in my garden. ish.
Long time no see, jmb. :)
Happy weekend!
Heheh... But those are pretty plants. Thanks for the visit.

A good idea in the absence of zebras.
Mine are the blinds in our living room.
I'm really enjoying seeing how stripes are created all around us - seeing so many different ways.
Nice choice! Lovely really.

Welcome home! I do like the photograph, and I'm off to read your coming home post below. I always enjoy your view of the world.
If we close on the townhouse we are bidding on I shall have a wee garden again! I'm very excited about that, and what will be my 'office' opens right onto the garden so mayhap I shall have some plant photos of my own soon eh? or movies... I received a FLIP camcorder for my birthday - the wee thing fits in my hand!
Welcome back one more time.
Your Hostas are lovely. So far there is no sign of mine in the garden. Spring is soooo late.

I love variagated leaves too, they add another dimension to the garden.

Yes, I agree with you - nature makes the most pleasing of patterns. I love the way you photographed this border, too - very nice indeed!
And it just keeps getting better and better. Such a great one to you.. I feel like I'm seeing skunks.. hehe thanks for the visit too!
Great choice but my hostas were eaten by dragonflies and penguins...
