Luckily he liked it too.
HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND EVERYONE
PAINTED
For some years my son has wanted to buy a hand carved painted Haida cedar mask but he did not seem to be able to make up his mind among the large number of choices for sale in this part of the world. I did not have that trouble when I went into the gift shop at the Vancouver Museum, looking for a birthday present for him. There was only one. I liked it, so I bought it for him.
HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND EVERYONE

That's a wonderful mask JMB. I have a thing for painted masks although I don't own any. I always gravitate to parts of museums that have painted masks. I know your son appreciated it.
That is a great idea for the theme.
Hope you have a great weekend too.
Good choice for a present and a perfect one for the theme. I have been toying with the idea of collecting masks for sometime now.
That is one awesome mask, I love it! Great colors and very expressive face.

Great mask. Beautifully crafted and, at the same time, there seems to be some humor to it!
Unique choice for the theme JMB. Beautiful mask. I find the Haida have stunning artwork in every genre.
Lovely painted mask for your son. I'm sure he liked it as much as you do :)
oooo it is a fun one. Love the tongue. :)
happy weekend!
Always a solution that. If you are spoilt for choice... let someone else do the choosing. I think he will be very happy with your choice, I would be.
Super talking point hanging on the wall.

Hi sweetie,..Is that a tribal Indian from your area? Very cool mask! Thanks for visiting my hunt! I always appreciate your visits!
Venice have lots of mask but differently painted. This one reminds me of Japanese Tengus. I bet he likes it and the fact that its your present! :)

I have never cared for some of the native art but I do have a pair of native pewter eagle feather earrings that I particular like. I am glad you found something he will enjoy.
That's a lovely birthday gift and the recipient appreciates it. :)
Masks are odd things. Your one seems somehow ok and it sort of reminds me of the Venetian ones that I find intriguing.
What I really hate are those ceramic clown ones like Pierrot. They tend to give me the creeps.
