ARTIFICIAL
ARTIFICIAL
I think we've had this theme before and I used artificial flowers. Today I know these photos are stretching the theme somewhat but these certainly are not real.
Every so often the BC Lions Society for Children for Disabilities has a fund raiser in which they invite sponsors for local artists to decorate one of the same life sized fibreglass moulds and the results are displayed around the city of Vancouver. After a time the artistic pieces are auctioned off to raise funds for their various projects. The first of these public art projects in 2004 was called Orcas in the City and raised over $800,000. This colourful one is still displayed outside the Easter Seal House which is their headquarters.

The current project is Eagles in the City and it's worth while clicking the link to see what the artists have done this time. I think they have really gone all out.
HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND EVERYONE

My first thought when I saw these pictures (apart from just a general enthusiasm about their niftyness) was that I wished I lived in a city where art like that went up. Then I thought for half a second and realized that I do (Burlington, Vermont). As a matter of fact, I think I just missed the annual Art Walk, because I occupy myself with too many things to be able to get to events. Montpelier, Vermont, where I work, has an annual public bicycle sculpture event. I think my favorite is the cluster of towering unicycles outside the state house.
I enjoyed the pictures; keep 'em coming!
Those may look artificial but they are indeed great work! I love that Darth Vader one most Jams. :)

A good initiative . I like the dolphin balloon best.
This sort of thing adds such colour and life to a city too. Love them all.
It will not be easy creating that many fibreglass moulds
