Saturday Photo Hunt --- Three

THREE

I'm a lazy photo hunter of late, delving always into the archives and for this week while not posting exactly the same photo, it is one from the same series I used not too long ago. These are three of my brother in law's horses. The two on the right are now brood mares enjoying their retirement from the track on his property. He has a fairly small breeding operation and they are mother and daughter, while the one on the left is his former riding horse who also enjoys a soft life in the fields now, partly because his nickname is Nipper, with very good reason!

HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND EVERYONE

Hi jmb --

FWIW, I often photo hunt by delving into my photo archives too. Don't think that's much of a sin -- especially if there are suitable photos to be shared. :)

Horses are most beautiful animals. I love them. Your scene could have been taken here in Aus! I'll never forget the shocked look on my mother's face when I was a kid and asked if I could have a horse!!! We lived in town on a normal town block of land! With the guinea pigs, dogs, cat, birds, bantams and us, I'm not sure where the horse would have fitted!

I hope you had a good weekend, too, jmb. :)

jmb...I'm duplicating my reply to you from my blog just in case you don't go back into read my response to your post. :)

"I've seen all the television adaptations of Morse, Lynley and Rebus, jmb. I've always enjoyed watching crime shows but I've never been a big reader of crime novels until a friend loaned me the Morse books by Colin Dexter during Christmas. The weather was wet so I raced through 12 of them and when they ran out I hit the local library and started on Elizabeth George's books following a suggestion earlier by someone in here. So now I'm hooked on the books!

I haven't forgotten you're an Aussie, Jmb. :)"

These horses are so beautiful. It costs a lot to own one in Singapore. And our tropical weather is not suitable for rearing horses.

What a lovely picture. It could be a scene from the English countryside.
