MEMORIAL

One of the nicest memorials I have seen is one I found in Perth last year, honouring the Pioneer Women of Western Australia. The text which I photographed is hard to read so I will reproduce it here.

This fountain plays to honour the Pioneer women of Western Australia. The figure symbolises their courage, strength and tenderness. Mother and child move through the bushland of surging jets, towards their destiny, the three great sprays.

I had no idea what to post for this week but the lightbulb lit up when I found this half shorn sheep, lurking in my New Zealand photos from last year. OK, OK. Lame idea and lame photo. But I did get to take part.

Yes, this weekend we celebrate Mother's Day in North America at least. I've used these photos for that previously but not for Photo Hunt, so I hope no one minds the repeat. But actually my theme is the Mothers and Daughters in my family.
